If you haven’t yet read about our vision for leadme.org, please take just a minute to do so.  Having already defined our broad goals, we’d next like to share with you specific details of our plan for realizing those goals.

The site is built around two primary features–the blog, and the forum.  The blog is the home for all our planned, regularly recurring content: from textual as well as topical analysis, to current events commentary, to worship and devotional material, to theological/philosophical discussion, to media reviews, and so forth.  The format will range from essays, to interviews, to audiovisual media, etc.  Categories include Adventures in Religion (experiences from the world of traditionally organized Christianity), Your Thoughts (in-depth explorations of specific topics), Old Testament Readings, and New Testament Readings.

The forum is where you readers will become active participants.  Each blog entry will be linked to a new forum topic for comments and discussion.  At least once each week we will prompt focused discussion by posing a new thought or question for your consideration.  We have also created numerous forum groups in which readers can author their own topics, respond to others’ thoughts and questions, upload media, discover opportunities to connect with others in their area, provide suggestions, submit criticism, and interact in whatever other ways one can imagine.

We’ll keep a steady stream of blog content flowing, and our planned schedule starting out will include at least three substantive posts per week:

You can count on this as a minimum, and as our readership and support begin to blossom, we will push this schedule forward and expand our roster of regular contributors.

One more note here at the outset: We recognize and embrace the likelihood that much of our initial readership will share our same denominational background (traditionalist Lutheranism).  As both Adam and I have recently stepped away from this background, our experiences leading up to and following our respective splits have shaped our views considerably, and to a large extent they have prompted the creation of this new online community.  Therefore a portion of our initial content will be written specifically with those in mind with whom we share a common background.  Although in general we will write for a broad audience, some of this initial content will be focused more narrowly.  That isn’t to say, however, that others might not find this material relevant to them as well, and of course we welcome participation from everyone.

Thanks for joining us!
